Here is an update on the new Predator 224 Hemi engine…
Bore X Stroke 2.93" (74.5MM) X 2.03" (51.5MM)
We finally got an engine and have gone through what we need to in order to make a decision on building billet parts for it. First off there is already one of our Billet flywheels that fit this engine, part numbers 6626 and 6696 for the Hemi Predator engine. Outside of that we do not see a need for making a billet rod for this engine at this time.
Reason being the piston is not a strong design and in our opinion will not stand up to the RPMs where a billet rod is needed. The piston has no real support around the bottom of the wrist pin and results in a very weak spot. This is where it will more than likely break during high RPM running.

Also there is no direct replacement OEM piston or no direct fit or hone to fit Wiseco piston currently available. This engine block is also completely different in the way it’s made than any other useable engines currently on the market, because it’s wider through the middle making the cam shaft longer and the crank wider. So replacing the current crank and cam with a Clone or Predator crank and cam is not gonna be a drop in and go.
The cylinder has also been moved lower to the crank center line meaning swapping side covers not possible. This is a good engine for GOVERNED cruising or trail riding, but we do not think it has a place in the performance world solely based on the poor piston design and lack of replacement pistons at this time. So we will not be making a billet rod or side cover for this engine right now. I have shipped the side cover gasket to Eric Adams with OMB so he can make a replacement side cover gasket for you guys.
