PVL ignition system

Been getting quite a few calls and messages about the PVL ignition system on where it actually fires at for checking timing. As you see in the pictures below the PVL ignition coil has four legs which I have numbered, and a PVL ignition flywheel has two magnets side-by-side.

Coil actually fires when the trailing edge of the second magnet is in line with the right hand edge of the second coil leg as the engine rotates. This is the mark you would use when setting your ignition timing.

All ARC PVL ignition flywheels set at 29 deg with a stock key. Gas engines should be 28 to 30°, methanol engines should be 30 to 32°. Coil gap should be .020-.025”. Always set your coil gap with the magnets directly under the coil.
